i miss the big apple already. but i have a room and my own bed, and a family and food. and a shiona to bug always.  blogging on buzznet is weird and i am still not sure if it has a point.. for me.

I just got back from The Getaway Plan. Which, immediately, let me say are a brilliant example of Australian music. Had a fucking amazing time 'cause I love them like hell. Everyone should give them a chance and a few listens. But honest. All-ages shows make me homicidal. Here comes rant.

I swear when I was 14 I can't have been that obnoxious? Right? Just because it's a week till easter in no way excuses wearing bunny ears, a bunny tail and lingerie to a gig. Umno.
Also. There is a large, defined difference between singing, dancing and enjoying the show and flailing selfishly in a pathetic attention grab. also. Please. Last time I checked, paramore only had one singer and they aren't holding auditions for thirtythousand more. Gross.

Point the second; which is of equal importance- is taking photos. Okay, I get it. It's cool to have a memento of your concert going experience.. But after three songs, Put. The. Camera. DOWN. No one wants to try to watch a band play between raised digital cameras and an annoying barrage of ill-timed flashes. No one else wants to see your 80th 'it's a little blurry, but if you squint you can see the guitarist from Stealing O'neal was totally looking at me' photo. aaand if you watch the entire set through your grainy as fuck, 0.000001 mega pixels cell phone screen just to have a pointless video for later, you may as well just stay home and watch some shitty footage on youtube from some other dick who paid for a ticket just to bug everyone around them and upload crap to their blog to get a few comments. *breathes*

There are professional photographers for a reason. With good gear and actual skills. They work hard for results. (Ahem. Points towards my top friend on this very internet site.) How about supporting their art too?

Twenty-three sounds so utterly ridiculous.
I remember when I was eight, this year- my 23rd, was intended for getting engaged. You know. Married at twenty-five, babies at twenty-six & twenty-seven. Fuck. I couldn't possibly want that any LESS right now.
I just want to spend it like my twenty-first and twenty-second. Traveling, seeing music and friends, but now, approaching mid twenties, is that too irresponsible?

I guess I have a plan. A vague plan at best, but still. It's there. Something to super slowly work towards. In possible need of some form of life coach to keep me on track. Any volunteers?

Whatever. I've still got a solid month to procrastinate some more. :D
